Daily Kaizen is small and fast; Kobetsu Kaizen is a team project with steps that targets a specific loss. It is the focused-improvement pillar of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).

Steps

  • Choose the loss: breakdowns, speed loss, scrap or setup loss.
  • Form the team: operator, maintenance, quality and process.
  • Measure the current state and write the target.
  • Find the root cause and apply countermeasures.
  • Measure the result, standardise and roll out.

Meetings and minutes

Decisions and tasks from project meetings are written into minutes; tasks go to the central action list. When the project closes, the gain goes through the validated value flow.
